Mixed fortunes and solid performance for Mumbai Falcons India Racing

Today, February 6, was the first race day of F3 Asia Championship Round 3. Mumbai Falcons India Racing Limited is going to compete in this series. For Round 3 organizers use the same track layout as for Round 2 in previous days. Championship leader, Jehan Daruvala has clinched pole position in both qualifying sessions what allowed him to start 7th race of the season from first place of starting grid and look like a new main title contender. However, success in qualifying was not the reason to relax and enable safe mode – his main rivals in drivers’ standings, Pierre-Louis Chovet and Guanyu Zhou were right behind him. Jehan’s teammate Kush Maini was 11th in Q1 and 10th in Q2.

Race 1 was quite solid one for Kush Maini. Soon after the start Safety Car was deployed and by that moment Kush had climbed to 8th position from 11th on starting grid. After restart young Indian driver didn’t lose the moment and shortly after green flag improved to 7th. Unfortunately, he didn’t manage to keep this position and for a few laps before the finish was overtaken by Cem Bolukbasi. He finished 8th. Quite good result and for sure this race was done solidly by him.

Jehan Daruvala didn’t implement his advantage of pole position. Pierre-Louis Chovet overtook him and Jehan became 2nd. In the remaining time Red Bull Junior driver hadn’t managed to attack his rival and finished 2nd. Behind Pierre-Louis Chovet (winner) but ahead Guanyu Zhou. After the finish Jehan was sad and admitted it was difficult to follow Pierre-Louis. It’s undoubtedly the team has something to analyze this evening.

Race 8 and Race 9 will be taken place on Sunday.
